Tasting Notes
Release Date: September 10, 2020
In a first for us, we have produced a charitable bottling to support the mental health of our community.
We selected three outstanding barrels from a single vineyard Tanaka, named for our dear friend Ron Tanaka; this is in contrast to our regular bottling, which comes from all four of our Estate Pinot Noir vineyards. Vinted in the same manner as our Estate Pinot Noir: 35% whole cluster fermentation; with native fermentations; no fining or filtration. The 2017 Tanaka Project is expressive with fresh aromas of rose petals, brown spices, wild strawberries and earth. On the palate, the tannins are refined yet present with brisk flavors of blueberry and raspberry, all back up with acidity and earthy complexity.
Given the fine structure, expect an aging potential of 25 years.
