Reviews for Mount Eden Estate Pinot Noir 1979
California Grapevine - August/September 1982
1st Place-Medium-dark ruby color; attractive, assertive, rich earthy, Burgundian-style, varietal aroma of medium-full intensity; well balanced medium-full body (13% alcohol); relatively big, stemmy fruit flavors on the palate; moderate tannin; harsh, tart finish; lingering aftertaste. Above-average quality. A big Pinot Noir in style that requires a good three to five years of aging.
