Tasting Notes
Release Date: Fall 1993
Eleven precious barrels were produced from our seven acres of fifty year-old vines. The fanatical nature of Pinot Noir producers and drinkers is obvious. As Matt Kramer states in his book Making Sense of California Wine, “Mount Eden is the spiritual epicenter of the Santa Cruz Mountains.” This wine, the Pinot Noir, is the spiritual epicenter of our wines.
To preserve all of the excellence and naturalness of the 1990 vintage, this wine was bottled, as usual, unfined and unfiltered. Magnificent now, expect two to three years of improvement and a drinking plateau for another four.
