Saratoga Cuvée Pinot Noir 2007
Tasting Notes
Release Date: Spring 2010
Composed of three cool climate sites in the Santa Cruz Mountains—Woodside (northern), Mount Eden (middle), and Santa Cruz (southern)—this 2007 Cuvée displays great purity in the aromas of crushed raspberry, blueberry and loamy earth. There is firm acidity with moderate tannins which form the structure; all too rare in modern California Pinot. Wild strawberry-blueberry flavors dominate in the mid-palate with a good spice component. Totally fermented on native yeasts and aged in Burgundy barrels for eleven months, this Pinot is neither fined nor filtered.
